Let the Holiday Season whisper in like a quiet snowfall with these muted blues and greys. Maybe that’s just your style, and Caveworks Press dreamed it up for you.
Snowflakes printed in a transparent white from wood type designed by ornament extraordinaire Jennifer Farrell and made by Moore Wood Type float over a light blue swirling pattern also printed from wood. Handset metal type in Engraver’s Shaded and Huxley Vertical add a vintage elegance. Paired with brown Kraft envelopes.
Coptic Stitch Journals are the latest hand-bound offering!
They measure 6″x 8″ and are hardbound in hand made unique paste papers with Irish linen thread. The Coptic stitch allows the book to open flat for your writing or drawing. Filled with 96 pages of 80lb. drawing paper.
“You Give My Heart Wings” With a decidedly vintage feel using the metal typeface Broadway and ornaments from the 1920s, this flying heart is perfect for saying what’s in yours. After letterpress printing, the image was further embellished with red color pencil to softly add to the heart shape.
Printed on my Vandercook cylinder press with hand-set metal type and ornaments in three colors. Each color is a separate run.
4.25 x 5.5 inches, paired with a red envelope. Blank inside.
Let this blank journal inspire you to GET INKY and write your thoughts, dreams and feelings down on good old analog paper. This size is especially good for working out your poetic soul.
Made with French Paper Co. cover and white Speckletone paper. I chose the Speckletone paper because these little bits of matter imbedded in the page mean the fear of a completely blank page can be bypassed and you can just get to work on it already!
Featuring a hand-carved linocut of a pen and letterpress printed metal type, with a vintage button closure, and sewn with linen thread. Two colors of thread to choose from for this journal style, rust red and white. The buttons are all unique and vary from wood to brown to dark or light shell in this style.
Size: 4.5 x 7 inches
Number of pages: 48
More New Work: Hula Girl Birthday card, a three-color print with vintage type used, a HELLO design made with wood type and metal ornaments, and a mini-poster with a “daredevil typesetting” style (setting type in the round or other unusual form) made with metal ornaments and the unique Shadow face for the Love, Pluto line. A birthday card with an whimsical antique cut in green, a bereavement card with roses, and the Endangered animals cards with linoleum cuts and metal type printed over the backs of wood type for texture.
